Hi guys!
I just finished up another project for Dr. Madeline M. Barlow to create some media content for her mindset & sport transitioning coaching business. (Her site: https://madelinembarlow.com/).
I just wanted to create a quick blog post to both show the completed work, and to also give some advice about how to create content with your client, not just for your client.
1.) Ask questions!
When you’re acquiring a new client, always do background research, but don’t assume you know everything about their business. Open-ended questions are an incredibly good way to get to know both who the client is, their brand voice, and what they need.
2.) Make a concept draft!
Clients can’t read your mind. So while you may have a really great idea for a logo, image, etc, the easiest way that you can show your plan is with a quick concept sketch. I also sometimes like to include a Pinterest board of references and inspirations to make sure we’re both on the same page for the overall ‘feel’ of the project.
3.) Provide revisions!
It’s really important to consider adding revisions to your project. While the first draft might be perfect, it’s perfectly understandable if the client wants a few changes. Write (x) number of revisions to be included in the business contract. I generally do three per item.
So, there you go! Some quick tips to work off of for your next project. Comment below if you want to add anything, or want anything else for the next blog post.
Write to you soon :)
